How to Customize Your VidDay Invitation Page: A Step-by-Step Guide
Customizing your invitation is the first step toward getting people excited to participate in your VidDay group video.
A personalized invitation not only looks better — it also helps friends and family feel more connected to the celebration.
Here's how to make your invitation page your own, in just a few easy steps.
Open the Invitation Customization Page
From your VidDay Event Page, click the Send Invites card. This takes you to your Invitation Page where you can customize your invitation.
Add a Photo of the Recipient
Make it personal by uploading a photo of the person you're celebrating. A familiar face adds warmth and helps contributors instantly understand what the event is all about.
Quick Tip
Not sure which photo to use? Check their Facebook or Instagram profile for a recent one that captures their personality.
Choose a Banner Design
Select a banner style that fits the mood of your celebration — whether it's fun and festive, sweet and sentimental, or sleek and simple. This banner appears at the top of the invitation page and sets the tone for your event.
Personalize Your Message for Guests
Your invitation includes a written welcome message and an optional video greeting.
- Record a short video to greet contributors in your own words. It's a great way to explain the purpose of the VidDay and encourage participation.
- Edit the written message to reflect your voice. Mention who the video is for and why their message would mean so much.
Add Prompts to Guide Contributors
Worried some people won't know what to say? Help them out by adding up to three creative prompts. These can be thoughtful, funny, or nostalgic — whatever fits the vibe of your video.
You can write your own or use one of VidDay's prewritten suggestions.
Set the Submission Due Date
Choose a deadline for when you'd like to receive messages. This is displayed on the submission page so everyone knows when to contribute.
Don't worry — people can still submit after the due date. The invitation stays open until you officially finalize your video montage.
Enable Optional Group Gifting or Tree Planting
If you'd like to include a gift with your video:
- Turn on Group Gifting to let invitees contribute funds. The recipient can redeem the total as a gift card or donate to charity.
- Enable Tree Planting if you'd prefer a meaningful, eco-friendly gesture. Contributors can plant trees in the honoree's name, and their tree count will appear in the final presentation.
You can enable one, both, or neither — it's completely optional.
Preview Your Invitation
Once everything looks good, click Preview Page to see exactly how your invitation will appear to others. This is your chance to double-check the layout, message, photo, and overall vibe before you start sharing.
