How to Edit Video Clips in VidDay

Got a video clip that needs trimming, straightening, or a little extra polish?

VidDay makes it easy to clean up your videos and make them look (and sound) just right — no fancy software required.

Here's how to edit video clips right inside your VidDay media gallery.

1

Open the Video Clip from Your Gallery

Start on your Event Page and scroll through your media gallery.

  • Double-click any video to open it in preview mode
  • Below the preview, you'll find editing tools and audio settings
2

Click “Edit Video” to Open the Editor

When you click Edit Video, you'll access four editing sections: Trim, Crop, Finetune, and Filter.

Let's break them down:

Trim Your Video Clip

This section lets you:

  • Cut out awkward starts or endings by dragging the trim handles
  • Use the Split tool to divide one video into multiple parts (great for cutting out a middle section)
  • Click Merge if you want to bring a split clip back together

Crop or Rotate the Video

In the Crop section, you can:

  • Zoom in or out (crop/scale)
  • Rotate the clip left by 90°
  • Flip it horizontally (mirror image)

This is perfect for correcting clips recorded sideways or reframing a shot.

Finetune the Look and Feel

In the Finetune tab, adjust:

  • Brightness, Contrast, Saturation
  • Exposure, Gamma, Temperature
  • And Clarity, for extra sharpness

You can preview changes in real time and reset any slider if needed.

Add a Visual Filter

Want a consistent mood across your video? Try a filter.

Choose from styles like:

  • Chrome
  • Pastel
  • Warm
  • Cold
  • Black & White
  • Fade

Apply a filter to just one clip or use the same one across multiple.

3

Adjust Audio Settings for Each Clip

Turn Off the Clip's Audio

Don't want the sound from the original clip?

Just toggle Clip Audio Off. This keeps the background music playing at full volume.

Fade the Background Music

Want to highlight someone speaking or singing?

Toggle Background Music Off and it will fade out during this clip — making the spoken message easier to hear.

VidDay automatically lowers background music slightly when a video plays, but you can take full control with these toggles.

4

Save or Revert Your Changes

Once you're done:

  • Click Done to save your edits
  • Or click Restore Original if you want to undo everything and start fresh
